SPEAKING WITH FERGIE
The Mo moved back up to third in the table last weekend and winger Ryan Ferguson believes the win over Clyde was vital to keep the momentum going following the Gable Endies’ excellent start to the season.
He said: “The result on Saturday was massive, especially coming off the back of two defeats on the bounce. The boys played really well. The first half was excellent and we showed what we can do as a squad.”
“It was important to give us confidence going into both cup games [IRN BRU Cup – Queen of the South and Scottish Cup – University of Stirling]. We wanted to go into the cup games with a win. I hope we can get a good run in the cups this year, and as you said, the previous few years we’ve been unlucky with draws. We have Queen of the South tomorrow, and they will be favourites. But anything can happen and we are all really looking forward to it.
“We’ve got nothing to lose. Ayr were favourites last round and we more than matched them. A draw was a fair result and anything can happen on penalties, but we are playing well again and there is no reason why we cannot do the same against Queen of the South. I am feeling confident going into the match, absolutely.”
