DOUBLE SUCCESS FOR MIGHTY MO IN MONTHLY AWARDS
Montrose FC’s current run of good form has been recognised with the award of both League 2 Manager and Player of the month for November by league sponsors, Ladbrokes.
Manager Stewart Petrie receives his first award since taking the helm at Links Park just over a year ago, when the Gable Endies were languishing at the bottom of the table.
Building on a solid start to this season, November saw Petrie take his side to top spot for the first time in over 3 years with two impressive away wins and a home draw. He also had enough time to squeeze in two attempts at a Championship scalp in the William Hill Scottish Cup, taking Queen of the South to a nail biting replay.
Defender Cammy Ballantyne completes the double for the Mighty Mo collecting his first Player of the Month trophy. The 20 year old is enjoying his second loan spell at Links Park from Dundee United and has made over 50 appearances for the Club.
Cammy’s solid defensive displays are arguably getting better with every game and he clearly enjoys going forward too, a combination that earned him two Man of the Match awards in the month.
Additionally, he delivered a pin point driven cross for Graham Webster to score what was voted the goal of the third round of the Scottish Cup, was instrumental in Chris Templeman’s goal that earned us a point against Annan and finally, from his cross, last months Ladbrokes player of the month, Craig Johnston secured a 3-1 away win at Cowdenbeath that got the Gable Endies month off to such a good start.
Many congratulations and well done to both Cammy and Stewart. Let’s hope there are many more of these to come...
