MIGHTY MO DIRECTOR JOINS BOARD OF EUROPE’S ELITE
Montrose FC Director Peter Davidson has been appointed to the Board of the European Football for Development Network (EFDN), further endorsing the great community work undertaken by the club together with its charitable arm, Links Park Community Trust (LPCT).
The vision of EFDN is to promote and use the connecting power of football as a tool for social development and a more social society, aimed at International, national and local community programmes for disadvantaged young people and adults in Europe.
The network consists of the most community focussed clubs, of all sizes, from throughout Europe with members including, Ajax, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona, PSG, Rangers, Celtic, Benfica and Sparta Prague.
Montrose FC, recently crowned ‘Best Professional Club in the Community’ by the Scottish FA, have been members of the EFDN since 2016, represented by Peter as Chief Executive of LPCT.
Peter said, ‘’I am both honoured and excited to be joining the Board of the European Football for Development Network.
“Football has the ability, and with that an obligation to engage, inspire and support many, particularly those that are most disadvantaged in our communities.
“Membership of the network has allowed LPCT to access European funding, engage in pan-European projects with fellow members, but more importantly, learn and share best practice with regards the development and delivery of community benefitting programmes.
“I am delighted to now be taking our involvement to the next level, and I look forward to working alongside my fellow Board Members in supporting Hubert Rovers (EFDN CEO) and his team as they continue to expand the size, reach and impact of the organisation’’
