TEAM MCGLASHAN KILT WALK

All at Montrose FC were saddened to hear of the passing of John McGlashan earlier this year.

John started his Senior football career at Links Park as a 21-year-old in 1988 and quickly established himself as a player who would go far in the senior game.

His strong powerful running from the centre of the park and his goalscoring exploits saw him make 68 appearances and net 10 times for the Gable Endies before being snapped up by Millwall in 1990 for a five-figure fee where he became team mate of a certain Manchester United striker, Teddy Sheringham!
With the great affection that Montrose FC have for John in mind, it is an honour to pass on this lovely message from John's wife Dawn.

"Team McGlashan are doing the Kiltwalk 'Big Stroll' to raise money for MND Scotland in memory of my late husband John McGlashan.

As well as helping to fund vital research into finding a cure for this cruel and devastating disease MND Scotland also provide invaluable support to those affected by Motor Neurone Disease.

As well as helping to fund vital research into finding a cure for this cruel and devastating disease MND Scotland also provide invaluable support to those affected by Motor Neurone Disease.

John was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in August 2017. His health rapidly deteriorated and just 5 months later on the 10th of January 2018 he died peacefully at home in his sleep. He was just 50 years old and still had so much more to give and should have had many more years of life to live.

John has been described as a 'force of nature'. I'm sure anyone who knew him will agree! John lived his life with positivity, enthusiasm, fun and laughter. He was my husband, my best friend and my soulmate and I am truly broken hearted at losing him.

If you could make a donation in John's memory and share our story we would be extremely grateful.

Thank You
Dawn
