Queens Park U17s 5 Montrose U17s 1
The Mo travelled to Lesser Hampden to face one of the stronger teams in the league and looking to get back to winning ways. After a slow start v Livingston the previous week it was an even slower start in Glasgow when straight from kick off the Mo managed to concede a goal with in 10 seconds. So an absolutely terrible start. Mo got back into the game ten minutes later when JACKSON DOBBIE latched onto a slack pass in the Spiders rearguard and cooly slotted from the edge of the box. The game flowed from end to end and the Gable Endies were giving as good as they got however failure to clear their lines resulted in Queens taking the lead again and further bad news followed when the home side made it 3-1 before the half time break. The Mo really didn't deserve that scoreline at half time however they need to be more ruthless at the back and also in front of goal. Performance wise a decent half.
The second half started much the same with both teams fairly even however a further defensive error allowed a fourth goal for the Spiders and the game was "done and dusted" and the home side ran out comfortable winners in the end. So a disappointing result at the National Stadium despite some positive play particularly in the first half however we must be more aggressive all round the pitch, cut out the defensive mistakes and make the most of our opportunities in front of goal. Next up is the visit of Elgin to Links Park where the Mo will look to take the three points on offer.
