MIGHTY MO SIGN GOALKEEPER GILL

Montrose FC have agreed terms with Cammy Gill on a 2 year deal that will see the goalkeeper move from Angus neighbours Arbroath FC next month, joining the Links Park outfit until the summer of 2025.

Cammy started his career with Edinburgh South Boys Club before signing for Dunfermline Athletic in 2008, where he worked his way through the youth system, making his first full debut for the Pars in 2018.

The 25 year old stopper also enjoyed international experience as a youth, having being involved in both Scotland U16 and U20 squads.

In 2021, Gill left East End Park to become first choice goalie at Cowdenbeath, making over 40 appearances for the Blue Brazil before stepping up two divisions the following year, moving to Championship side Arbroath as Derek Gaston’s understudy.

Cammy said, “Really excited to sign for a club that a lot of people I know have spoken very highly about. When I spoke to the Gaffer, I really liked the sound of his plans going forward and the set-up sounds great. Really looking forward to meeting everyone associated with the Club and getting myself prepared for next season.”

Assistant Manager Ross Campbell said, “We are so pleased that Cammy has agreed to join us. He comes with a high pedigree and will be a great addition to our squad. For various reasons, our goalkeeping situation last season was far from ideal, and this will hopefully go a long way to improving that.”

Gill becomes Stewart Petrie’s third new signing of the summer following Ryan Williamson announcing his move from Falkirk back in January and Heriot-Watt Scholarship Graduate Ali Shrive agreeing terms last week.
