Farewell Captain…

Having now secured our place in the SWPL for next season, we are sad to announce that next Sunday will mark the last game for our club captain, Tammy Harkin, as she feels like the time has come to retire from the game.

Harkin, who signed last summer for Craig Feroz’s side has been a creative and dependable figure in the centre of the pitch and will be sorely missed by everyone at the club.

Tammy said “It’s finally time for me to call it quits on the game I have lived and breathed for the past 25 years. Moving to Montrose was the best decision I could have made, and for me the best way to bow out on a high. I have met amazing people and made so many friends along the way and to everyone I have played with and against, it’s been a pleasure. For my team mates at the Mo, you ladies are amazing and have made coming to football this season easy because it’s been such a happy place. Continue to stick with one another and you will do so much better than everyone ever thought you could. I will be cheering for you ladies all the way. Thanks for the memories, ‘Mon the Mo!’

Manager Feroz added “Although Tammy has only spent a season at the club , I have admired her as a player and a professional for some time. Although retirement can sometimes be looked upon as a sad occasion I am just very pleased to have managed Tammy for the last year of her career. She has lead us to safety as captain and she has been an outstanding role model within the club. Tammy can retire with her held head high after a fantastic season also adding a couple of great goals at Pittodrie to the memories of her time as a footballer. I wish Tammy all the best in the future. The doors at Links Park will always remain open to her.”

Everybody at the club would like to wish you all the best with your next chapter Tammy.
