Montrose FC Women are also saddened to announce Aimee Culley has made the decision to retire from the game following our final fixture of the season this afternoon.

Aimee, who signed as one of the originals back in 2017 and picked up the Social Media Fans Favourite Award back in 2022 has played a vital part throughout the incredible journey of Montrose FC Women.

Culley said β€œIt’s hard to even put into words what this club means to me. Having been here since its formation in 2017, I have seen the club go from strength to strength. Being involved in 3 promotions and securing a place for another year in top flight football after so many counted us out really has been a dream come true and I’m so happy it has been done with this club. It’s been a honour to have played alongside all of my teammates past and present who have been not only brilliant players but brilliant people as well. Not to mention playing under some of the best managers & coaches I have worked with as a football player. I will forever be thankful to so many for the opportunity to play at this amazing club for so many happy years & now I feel I have achieved all that we had set out to do so it’s the perfect time for me to retire. I will look back on all the memories at my time here so fondly (yes, even the few red cards) and forever cherish them in my heart. A true family club. I will now be Montrose’ no.1 cheerleader and support them every step of the way next season (so magnificent 7 save a seat for me). MON THE MO πŸ’™β€

Craig Feroz added β€œCulley for me really shows how far we have came as a club. When I first met her when we were in the Championship there is no way she could ever have envisioned she was capable of playing in the top league. But with hard work and determination it shows you what can be achieved and Culley optimises that. She will be sorely missed, and again another Montrose legend and friend.”

All the best for the future Culley!
