Montrose FC can confirm that Evan Towler will leave the club in the summer when the defenders contract runs out.

Arriving on a permanent deal back in August, Towler was no stranger to Links Park, having spent time on loan from Aberdeen at the start of the 2023/24 season.

The left sided defender featured 16 times this season for Stewart Petrie’s League 1 side and scored in a 3-1 home win against Aberdeen B in the KDM Evolution Trophy group phase back in September.

Manager Stewart Petrie said, “We would like to thank Evan for his contribution this season and wish him all the very best for the future.

“The key thing for Evan now is getting the opportunity to hold down a jersey week in, week out, wherever he chooses to play next. Wherever that is, they will be signing a brilliant lad and an excellent professional.”

Evan added, “I would just like to thank the staff and players for being so welcoming and wish everyone at the club good luck for the seasons to come.”
