Montrose FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of experienced midfielder Francesca Ogilvie ahead of the 2026/27 season from local SWPL rivals Aberdeen FC Women subject to SFA approval.

Fran arrives at Links Park with an outstanding pedigree, having spent the last seven years with Aberdeen FC Women after making her debut in 2019. Joining the Dons from Aberdeenshire side Cove Rangers, where she previously worked under current Montrose FC Women Manager Craig Feroz, Fran quickly established herself as one of the club’s most influential players.

In 2022, Fran became the first player in Aberdeen FC Women’s history to sign a semi-professional contract and went on to serve as Vice Captain. During her time at the club, she made a remarkable 195 appearances, scoring 65 goals, becoming Aberdeen FC Women’s all-time record appearance holder. She broke the long-standing club record during a match against Rangers at Scotland’s National Stadium, Hampden Park, last season.

On the international stage, Fran also represented Scotland at Under-19 level, earning six caps and finding the net once during the 2019/20 campaign.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Fran said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Montrose FC Women. The ambition and direction of the club really stood out to me, and after speaking with Craig, it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.
I have worked with Craig before and I know he will bring out the best in me, whilst also considering our work/life balance. I know most of the squad already and I genuinely can’t wait to get started and enjoy football again. There is a genuine family feel around the club. You can see it when you play against Montrose how close the girls are and that’s hard to come by in football teams. I am excited to play for a club that are constantly driving their women’s team forward and I can’t wait to play at Links Park, where my Grandad was captain many years ago.”

Manager Craig Feroz added: “Absolutely delighted to be able to bring Fran to the club. She’s a top-class player who I have worked with in the past and know very well. Fran will bring experience, quality and versatility to the squad, with the ability to play in various midfield roles, and I’m sure she will be an instant hit at the club.”
