GABLE ENDIES STRENGTHEN LINKS WITH WOMEN’S TEAM
Montrose FC are delighted to announce a partnership with Montrose Women (previously Montrose Ladies) that will see the Club introduce a structure of support for their women’s team, helping them reach their goals.
Club Chairman, John Crawford said, “This is really great news, and we are looking forward to working together, sharing our facilities and providing administrative support.”
“The women’s game continues to grow globally, and we are very proud to be able to support this development at such a local level. It once again reinforces our position as a community focussed Club.”
Montrose Ladies FC were established by the Montrose Community Trust in 2017, to ensure a seamless female football pathway for all ages and aspirations. This arrangement will see the side remain a member club of the Trust, offering a route into adult football for girls and young women playing for Montrose Youth FC.
The partnership with Montrose FC will develop over time, bringing the football and commercial operations of the two teams closer together and will see the women wearing the same kit design as the men’s team.
Manager, Craig Feroz, added, “I am absolutely delighted with this news and delighted to be part of such a forward-thinking club that believes in women’s football.
“This announcement is not just huge for Montrose and my team but a huge step forward for the women’s game in Scotland.”
Having won the Scottish Division 2 in just their second season, the women currently play in the Championship North division and having had a great start to this campaign with 3 good wins, are looking to gain promotion into the Scottish Womens Premier League 2
Home matches are available live online, through the Club’s new streaming service on a pay-per-view basis.
