McLEAN TO DEPART LINKS PARK
Montrose FC have confirmed that, following extended negotiations, striker Russell McLean is to leave Links Park having turned down a contract extension offer.
The 22 year old frontman joined the Gable Endies from Peterhead in January 2019 and has scored 12 goals in his 45 appearances, including netting in both legs of the recent Championship Playoff Semi Final defeat to Greenock Morton.
Voted Young Fans Player of the Year back in May, McLean also picked up the Clubs Goal of the Season award for his acrobatic overhead kick against Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup.
Assistant Manager, Ross Campbell commented, “We would like to thank Russell for all his efforts over the last two and a half seasons. We respect his decision to look for a new challenge at this stage in his career and wish him all the very best for the future.”

CONGRATS TO WEBBY & CAMMY
Graham Webster and Cammy Ballantyne have just been named in the SPFL League 1 Team of the Year!
From the full team rundown (>> SPFL Article <<), our boys are described as follows;
RB – Cammy Ballantyne (Montrose) – Equally as comfortable going forward as he is defending, Ballantyne’s energy and effort was a huge asset in a season where the Links Park Dynamo finished above full-time outfit, Falkirk. His ability and consistency has made him one of the league’s most valuable players.
RM – Graham Webster (Montrose) – Is Graham Webster the most under-rated player in the SPFL? A player who is equally as comfortable playing on either flank, or through the middle, ‘Webby’ is the driving force in the Montrose midfield. His eight goals and two assists played a massive part in the ‘Mo securing a fourth-placed finish in League 1 for the second consecutive season.
...and who would argue with that

GABLE ENDIES ANNOUNCE FRIENDLY DETAILS
Montrose FC have confirmed their pre-season friendly schedule, kicking off with home games against Arbroath and Fraserburgh, and finishing with an away trip to newly promoted Kelty Hearts.
The Club also confirmed that fans will be welcomed back to Links Park for the home fixtures, but will be limited to Season Ticket holders only, with the friendlies being treated as test events.
Championship neighbours Arbroath will visit Links Park on Sat 26th June with a 2pm kick off, with Highland League side Fraserburgh arriving the following midweek, on Tue 29th June for a 7:45pm kick off.
Rounding off preparations, Stewart Petrie’s side will travel to New Central Park to play SPFL’s newbies Kelty Hearts with a 2pm kick off.
Operations Manager, Davey Byrne explained, “We are really excited at the prospect of getting fans back into the ground. However, we still have a lot of procedures to follow to ensure everyone remains safe from possible Covid-19 infection.
“We have therefore decided to limit the two home friendly fixtures to Season Ticket holders only, to allow us to more easily manage the safe re-introduction of fans.
“Due to current government guidelines, our capacity will remain severely restricted as the cup and league campaigns begin, but if everything goes to plan with the friendlies, we expect to be able to offer entry to a small number of Montrose fans to each game, over and above our Season Ticket holders.
Those wishing to watch the home fixtures online will be able to do so using MoTV, with streaming details to be confirmed shortly. Season Ticket holders unable to attend in person will be able to watch online for free.
