ASSISTANT MANAGER CAMPBELL COMMITS FUTURE TO GABLE ENDIES
Montrose FC Assistant Manager Ross Campbell has agreed a 2 year contract extension, keeping the successful management duo at Links Park together until at least the summer of 2025
The news comes hard on the heels of Manager Stewart Petrie’s decision to commit his future to the Club and is yet another great bit of business by the Gable Endies Board.
On taking the reins of Club 42 back in 2016, Petrie immediately turned to then senior player Campbell, to make the leap into management as his second in command.
With both experiencing their respective management roles for the first time, the duo could never have dreamt that 5 years on, they would have orchestrated the most successful period in the Club's 143 year history, delivering five consecutive top 4 finishes across two divisions, including only the Club's second league title and first ever appearance in a Championship play off semi-final.
Club Chairman John Crawford said, "We are delighted that Ross has agreed to extend his contract.
As Manager, Stewart’s name naturally makes the headlines, but within the Club, we are all acutely aware of the importance and significant role that Ross plays in our ongoing success. They are completely different characters, but with complimentary skills, which together with their extensive experience of the game has made them a formidable force.”
Ross added, “I have a strong affinity for the Club, having spent the last seven years here and wish to thank everyone involved in making this time so successful. This contract extension was about joining the ambition of the Board with what Stewart and I want to achieve, so I wish to record my ongoing thanks for the support they have shown. Onwards!”
