COMMUNITY TRUST UPDATE
An update from the Community Trust
We wish to advise that we have suspended ALL of our charitable programmes until further notice.
We are in the process of preparing a paper/proposal as to how we may be able to offer a provision, in the coming weeks/months, that would allow the children of key workers to attend Links Park Stadium, under the supervision of our staff, in support of our NHS in particular.
This will involve extensive dialogue with local and national bodies, and we’ll keep you all informed of any updates/progress.
Meantime, we urge ALL members of our community to follow and respect the advice being given to us by Government, who are being advised by epidemiology experts.
THIS IS NOT A HOLIDAY!
We ALL have a responsibility to limit the spread of Coronavirus so that, (a) we protect the welfare of those living in our community, and in particular those most ‘at risk’ of the complications associated with the contraction of the disease, and (b) so that the NHS can cope with the ‘peak’ of hospitalisations in the hope that it doesn’t breach their capacity.
Although children may seem ‘fine’ they are dangerous vectors/carriers of the disease, and allowing them to mix with others, and in particular those most ‘at risk’ because they don’t seem to present with symptoms, will continue the spread of the disease and add to severity of the pandemic.
Deaths, according to experts, could reach 20k to 250k. The actions we take over the coming days/weeks/months will dictate such.
