Montrose 1 Berwick Rangers 0
Montrose ended the season on a high, recording a win over Berwick Rangers in front of a large crowd at Links Park.
GARY FRASER scored the only goal of the game on the verge of half time when he collected the ball on the left-hand side of the box and bulleted a shot across visiting goalkeeper Kevin Walker into the top corner.
Both sides created chances during the match, Berwick coming close in the 22nd minute when Blair Henderson's low shot was held by Jordan Millar.
Terry Masson almost scored a spectacular goal in the 27th minute when he flicked the ball through the Berwick defence, but his half volley was palmed wide by Walker.
Fraser should have put Montrose ahead in the 33rd minute when Walker's poor clearance was intercepted on the edge of the box, but the striker's left foot shot failed to find the target with the keeper well out of position.
Berwick tried to pile on the pressure in the second half, Finn Graham having a 30-yard shot held and substitute Barry Hogg also denied by Millar.
At the other end, Graham Webster's low shot was comfortably held by Walker, and the same player headed over from Aaron Comrie's whipped cross after a surging run down the right.
Ross Campbell had a close-range shot blocked five minutes from time, while Hogg's shot four minutes into stoppage time was blocked and cleared by the Montrose defence.
