Montrose Greats - Dave Gorman
Davie Gorman is the third goalkeeper to be featured under the greats column.
David started his career in 1967 when Jimmy Bonthrone signed him for East Fife from St Andrews United. He made his East Fife debut against Montrose in March 1968. He left Methil in 1974 to join the Gable Endies making his debut against East Stirling on 31st August 1974. He went on to make 180 league and cup appearances for the club as the 1974-1977 side created their own legendary status.
Davie turned in many memorable performances during his time at the club and can include memorable matches against Hibs and Raith Rovers in the League Cup amongst his many solid performances for the club. Davie returned to East Fife for the start of the 1979/80 season and finished his career in 1983/84.
He remains at East Fife where he still coaches. In all Davie made 531 senior appearances for East Fife and Montrose.
