Big Marv Joins Montrose
Montrose Become Marvin Andrews' 14th Club
Former Trinidad and Tobago defender Marvin Andrews has made Montrose his 14th club.
The 39-year-old has signed at Links Park until the end of the season after leaving Scottish League Two rivals Elgin City.
Andrews, capped 101 times for his country, made 14 appearances for City this season, scoring twice, for the side sitting bottom of the table.
Montrose lie five points above the Black and Whites in eighth.
But Elgin, who appointed Jim Weir as manager in November after Barry Wilson's resignation, have two games in hand.
Andrews had not played for Elgin since 6 December and made his debut for his new club in Saturday's 2-2 draw away to leaders Arbroath.
He first came to Scotland in 1997 to join Raith Rovers - to whom he has returned twice - after playing for ECM Motown, San Juan Jabloteh and Malta Carib Alcons in his homeland.
Andrews went on to play for Livingston, Rangers, Hamilton Academical, Queen of the South, Wrexham, Kirkintilloch Rob Roy and Albion Rovers before spending last season with Forfar Athletic in League One.
Arbroath 2 Montrose 2Montrose Football Club came from behind to grab a valuable point in an end to end derby Angus derby match at Gayfield Park on Saturday. It was the first point George Shields side had taken off the league leaders this season and it was one that they certainly deserved.
Once Arbroath took a two goal lead at the start of the second half they looked dead and buried but they showed great character to grab two goals in three minutes to turn the match around. It was end to end for the last twenty minutes but neither side could find the winning goal with Arbroath even missing a penalty kick late in the match.
Montrose must now look to continue this form into next Saturday’s match against East Stirlingshire at Links Park and stop giving the opposition two goal leads.

Leszek NowosielskiPolish midfielder Leszek Nowosielski has been released from the club after making only two substute appearances for Montrose, due travelling difficulties from his home in Turriff. Nowosielski made his Montrose debut as a second half substitute against East Fife for Montrose in December 2014 and came on again as sub the following week against Queen's Park. Leszek who hails from Opole in Poland had waited for three weeks for his international clearance to come through before he could make his Gable Endies debut.
Leszek started with youth career with Rodlo Opole in 1999 until 2005. Between 2005 and 2008 he was with Odra Opole before he moved to Promien Opalenica. After leaving there after making 9 appearances he moved to Ruch Zdzieszowice for season where he made 26 appearances scoring three times. He has spent the last two seasons with GKS Belchatow whilst he also had a loan spell with Warta Poznan in 2013.
Leszek has also been capped for Poland at Under 18, 19 and 20 level. Making four appearances in total for the under 20 side.
Montrose 2 Elgin City 3Montrose remain two places off the bottom spot in League 2 following a 2-3 home defeat to Elgin City. Elgin took the lead early on in the first half through Dennis Wyness and soon found themselves two down after defender Ross Graham put the ball into his own net. A second half revival from Montrose failed to overturn Elgin City's advantage from the first half, resulting in the home side losing ground in the League Two relegation battle.
