Montrose 1 Queen's Park 2
MONTROSE fell to a second consecutive defeat despite a spirited performance against high-flying Queen's Park.
The visitors took the lead in the 24th minute when, against the run of play, JOHN CARTER was sent clear of the home defence and slotted a low shot past Stuart McKenzie.
They doubled their advantage in the 36th minute when the unmarked PAUL WOODS headed home from Darren Miller's corner.
Montrose were given a lifeline in the 64th minute when Leighton McIntosh was tripped in the box by Bryan Wharton. GARRY WOOD stepped up to take the penalty, firing a low shot past William Muir.
Although they maintained their momentum for the remainder of the match, Montrose were unable to find an equaliser.
