DONATION ‘MUTCH’ APPRECIATED BY LOCAL DEMENTIA CENTRES
Lily Mutch, widow of the late Montrose FC stalwart Bob, presented cheques to The Adam Centre and to the Fairview unit at Dorward House.
Dorward House Manager Deborah Philips said, “On behalf of our residents I would like to thank the MFC Fundraising Committee for the very generous donation to Fairview.
“We strive to provide lots of meaningful activities for our residents so they can continue with any hobbies they have and are able to try out some new activity ideas.
“This money will be used to buy calming and relaxing sensory equipment, which reduces stress and anxiety, especially for someone with dementia.”
Irene Mitchell, The Adam Centre Manager added, “Thank you to Lily for choosing our Centre and thanks to the MFC Fundraising Committee for organising the charity football tournament.
“Our Centre provides social and personal care, we promote independence and enable people who can be socially isolated to interact with their own peer group.
“Your donation will go towards a television for our small sitting room.”
The Bob Mutch Memorial Fives took place last month with over 70 players taking part. Whilst the Red Devils ran out overall winners, the biggest success of the day was the £600 raised for charity.
