HEGARTY LANDS EXPERIENCED 'BULLY WEE' DEFENDER
Montrose FC have secured the services of defender Michael Bolochoweckyj on a two year deal following his release this week from Clyde.
Manager Paul Hegarty wasted no time in snapping up the 32 year old centre half, bringing much needed experience to the Gable Endies back line.
After a short stint at Ross County in 2003, Michael's career began in earnest when he moved to Alloa Athletic, where he spent 3 years, making 59 appearances and scoring 4 goals, one of which came in the Scottish Cup Third Round against Livingston.
Bolochoweckyj moved to newly promoted Berwick Rangers in 2007 where he scored in the Scottish League Cup against Stenhousemuir to help his side to an extra time win.
The following year he moved to East Stirlingshire and scored just eleven days after signing in a 1–1 home draw with Dumbarton, which ended a run of eleven consecutive defeats for The Shire.
Michael moved to Forfar Athletic in 2010 but returned to The Shire in 2013 for another 2 seasons before signing for Barry Ferguson at Clyde last year, scoring on his debut against Livingston, this time in the Scottish Challenge Cup.
This brings Hegarty's signings for next season to 14 following the recent contract extension of top striker Gary Fraser.
The Club have also announced they will play Peterhead in a pre-season friendly at Links Park on Tuesday 5th July with a 7.30pm kick off.
