Steeves Extends Contract At Links Park
Montrose FC are delighted to announce that Andrew Steeves has today signed a contract extension until the end of next season. A fans favourite, the defender was a regular starter this season until suffering a bad knee injury at the start of November. Having just returned to the side it is no coincidence that the Gable Endies form has also stated to improve, being unbeaten in their last four games.
Steeves was manager Paul Hegarty’s first signing at Links Park, joining initially last February on an emergency loan from Forfar Athletic, before signing a permanent deal during the summer. He has made 28 appearances and his dedication to the Club was never more demonstrated than during the Lothian Thistle Scottish Cup tie in November. Injuring his knee making a last ditch challenge in the dying seconds of normal time, the 21 year old chose to hobble through extra time instead of seeing his teammates play with only 10 men, with all substitutions having been made.
Having done good business in the January window with four new signings, Hegarty has clearly turned his attention to planning for next season and more contract extensions are likely to follow.
