TRIO SET TO DEPART LINKS PARK
Montrose FC have announced that Lewis Milne, Matty Allan and Mark Whatley are to leave the club this summer.
Milne arrived from Angus neighbours Forfar Athletic in January of 2018, helping guide Stewart Petrie’s side to an historic league title run in with 11 goals in 16 appearances. The 29 year old has since gone on to make 131 appearances for the Gable Endies with a goals total of 26.
Fellow title winner Allan has played 181 games in his three spells at Links Park, having initially enjoyed two loan spells from Dundee FC, before being snapped up permanently by Petrie in 2017. The 27 year old made the SPFL Team of the Year in that historic season and has developed into an accomplished, calm and assured centre half.
Having won two Championships with Arbroath FC, Whatley brought his experience, leadership, and winning mentality to the Club in the summer of 2017. The 32 year old midfielder has made 77 appearances across the last two seasons, demonstrating his versatility by often filling in at full back when required.
Petrie said, “I would like to personally thank Lewis, Matty and Mark for everything they have done for me and this Club. They should be proud of being part of the most successful period in the Club’s history and in particular Matty and Lewis, as title winners will never be forgotten here.
“We wish all three the very best of luck and every success for the future.”
