Montrose FC Club Captain, Paul Watson has agreed a further one year contract extension, keeping him at Links Park for an impressive 12th consecutive season, until

the summer of 2024.

Having made 332 appearances for the Gable Endies, the 37 year old remains the Club’s current second longest serving player, and continues to play his part for Stewart Petrie’s side, scoring twice in the final 4 games of the season. 

Petrie said, “Paul continues to have a huge influence both on and off the pitch and is a great role model to the other players as Captain with his professionalism and natural leadership. We are delighted to have secured his services for another year and he will play a massive part, providing continuity and stability as we introduce new faces to the squad over the coming weeks.”

Commenting on his contract news, Paul added, “I am delighted to be staying on for another year. Everyone knows my connection with the Club and I am looking forward to helping with the squad rebuild as we look to push on again next season. 

“I am also excited about the events being planned by my Testimonial Committee, set to take place across July and August, that we hope to share with everyone very soon.”
