Montrose FC Women are delighted to announce their third summer signing Neve Guthrie who has agreed to join the club on the expiry of her contract with SWPL rivals Dundee United Women.

Having 8 caps under her name for Scotland Under 17s & 15s along with previously playing at Forfar Farmington, Dryburgh and most recently Dundee United, Neve brings a positive attacking mindset to the game and will fit into Craig Feroz’s squad comfortably as the club face their first season in top tier women’s football.

Montrose FC comes as no stranger to the Guthrie family, as Grandad Charlie Guthrie is a well known legend around the club having played with Montrose in the 1970s.

Manager Craig Feroz commented “Neve is a fantastic capture for the club. Although it seems like she has been around forever due to the amount of games under her belt she is still very young and I am excited to see what else we can bring out in her to help her get to her very best. Neve is a technically gifted attacking player who likes to find little pockets of space in advanced positions where she can then receive the ball and get at defences. Neve is also a goalscorer and I am delighted to have her at the club and can’t wait to work with her.”

Welcome Neve!
