Alex Stewart had a thousand reasons to be thankful of the recent good weather, when his number was pulled out of the Montrose FC Club 500 Summer Madness draw, becoming the first person to win the newly increased £1,000 top prize.

The exciting and innovative lottery scheme allows Gable Endie fans to accumulate shares in their beloved Club each month, as well as having the chance of winning 36 BIG cash prizes each year.

With a normal monthly jackpot of £500, only the Xmas draw has to date had the increased four figure windfall. However, going forward, as an added incentive, the Summer Madness draws will also enjoy the increased winnings of £1,000, £250 and £100.

Since launching the scheme in January 2020, in addition to increasing the shareholder base for the Club, 103 winners have collectively won £29,450 in prize money.

Reacting to his good fortune, Alex said, “I was just watching the draw, enjoying the interview with Craig Batchelor and Ali Shrive and when the winner was announced as James Stewart, I didn’t realise at first that it was me, as that is my Sunday name.
