Montrose FC have accepted a transfer offer from Peterhead for Rory McAllister that will see the 36 year old striker return to The Blue Toon, subject to SFA approval.

McAllister arrived at Links Park on deadline day last August in a shock move from then Championship side Cove Rangers. The experienced front man has made 45 appearances for Stewart Petrie’s side and scored 11 goals.

Stewart said, “Whilst this has been unexpected, and I appreciate the fans will be surprised with the news, I do believe it is the right move for both the Club and Rory in the long term.

“Rory has given everything for us every time he has played, but having a young family has found the travelling to training twice a week difficult. We wish him every success for the future.”
