MICHAEL BECOMES NEW GABLE ENDIES VICE CHAIRMAN

Montrose FC have appointed Director Michael Fotheringham as the Club’s new Vice Chairman.

Managing Director of local house builders Fotheringham Homes, Michael joined the Board back in December 2018.

The Vice Chairman role sadly became vacant in April with the tragic and untimely passing of Director and good friend David Laing. Respectfully and understandably, the Club have taken time to appoint Dave’s successor, a decision that has been naturally extremely difficult for the entire Board.

Chairman John Crawford explained, “We still find this whole situation very surreal and continue to miss Dave very much. However, we know he would have wanted the Club to continue to move forward and having the support of a Vice Chair is pivotal to doing just that.

“I am therefore delighted to be announcing the appointment of Michael as our new Vice Chairman. Michael has been very active as a Director since joining the Board almost 5 years ago and more recently has become increasingly involved in the day to day activities at the Club, which has been hugely appreciated.

Michael commented, “We currently have a fantastic Board of Directors, Associate Directors and Honorary Directors, who all work tirelessly for the club. It is a great honour for me personally, to contribute further in the position of Vice Chairman, and one which I am very much looking forward to.”

Chief Exec Peter Stuart added, “I would like to add my congratulations to Michael on his appointment. His passion for the game together with his business experience and acumen will be a huge asset, not only to the Board, but also to our Management and Operations teams.

“In what has been an incredible period of change behind the scenes at the Club, this announcement completes our restructuring for the foreseeable future and we will now all focus on supporting Stewart and the boys in every possible way we can.”
