Andrew Steeves has become the fourth player from Stewart Petrie’s current squad to reach the incredible milestone of 350 appearances for the Angus club, joining fellow teammates Terry Masson, Paul Watson, and Graham Webster.

Since joining, initially on loan from Angus neighbours Forfar Athletic back in 2015, the ex-St Johnstone full back has developed into one of the best and most consistent defenders across the league, regularly winning various club awards as well as the SPFL League 1 Player of the Month for December 2019.

There is no doubt however, his greatest feat to date for the Gable Endies was playing every minute of every league game in 2017/18, as the Mighty Mo made history, lifting the Ladbrokes League 2 title for the first time in 33 years, with Andrew also making the SPFL Team of the Year.

Presenting Andrew with his trophy, Club Chairman John Crawford said, “We are delighted to see Andy reach this remarkable milestone, one he has worked extremely hard for and is thoroughly deserving of.

“To think that Andy, together with Terry, Paul and Graham now have over 1,500 appearances and counting between them is truly mind-blowing and speaks volumes for the loyalty shown by Stewart and his staff to the current squad, an approach that has helped us now deliver an unprecedented seven top 4 finishes in the last eight years.

“Andy, still at a young age has played a big part in all this and with his testimonial year just around the corner, has much to be proud of and we hope, many more appearances to look forward to in a Montrose shirt as we continue to collectively enjoy the success being delivered by all the current squad.”
