Montrose FC have accepted an offer from Deveronvale FC, for the transfer of Academy Graduate Ben Hermiston to the Highland League side for an undisclosed fee.

The Aussie born forward made the step up to Stewart Petrie’s first team squad back in January, being plucked from the Links Park Youth Academy to sign his first pro-contract.

The 18-year-old has since made 17 appearances and scored twice for the Gable Endies and the Gaffer believes a move north at this stage will be a positive one for young prospect.

Stewart said, “This is a great opportunity for Ben and one that will afford him more game time than we can offer at this stage of his development. In his short time with us, he has demonstrated real maturity, always impacting games by carrying a genuine threat upfront, which is a great credit to the ongoing work being done by David Burns and his coaches within our Youth Academy.

“We wish him well and would like to thank everyone at Deveronvale for their assistance and efforts in making this move happen.”
