Michael Gardyne hit a century of appearances for Montrose FC recently when he helped Stewart Petrie’s side secure a vital 3 points in a narrow 1-0 victory on the road at Dumbarton.

The 38-year-old arrived at Links Park from Inverness Caledonian Thistle in January 2022, bringing a unique combination of experience, quality, and a winning mentality to the Gable Endies midfield, having won both league titles and cups during a record breaking 15-year spell with Ross County.

Having passed the incredible milestone of 600 competitive games back in January, the Dundee born playmaker’s career total now sits at 628 with his influence on the pitch as impactful as ever, reflected by the award of both the Supporters Club and Players, Player of the Year awards at the end of the last campaign.

Presenting Michael with his trophy, Director Peter Davidson said, “On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to congratulate Michael on reaching this milestone. It was a real coup to attract a player of Michael’s calibre and experience to Montrose, but being able to retain him is a true testament to the management team and his teammates, as he continues to enjoy his football here.
