It was with great sadness that the Club learned of the recent passing of Hall of Fame legend Jimmy Kemp.

Arriving at Links Park in 1959, Jimmy played 344 games for the Gable Endies over two spells, scoring 164 goals, a tally which put him in the top 10 for all-time club appearances and second in the goalscoring chart, just 1 goal behind his good friend Bobby Livingstone.

Jimmy was truly one of our best ever players in relative modern times. Wearing his usual No. 10 shirt, Jimmy had a natural ability and poaching instinct to sniff out and take a goal scoring opportunity, one which these days would have inevitably meant a huge transfer fee into the big time.

Jimmy’s achievements with the Mighty Mo were formally recognised in 2019, when he was inducted into the Club’s Hall of Fame, and when asked what his most memorable moment was in a royal blue shirt, he recalled the final of the Forfarshire Cup in season 1961/62, against Arbroath at Gayfield, which we won 2-1, with Jimmy naturally scoring both goals.

Jimmy will forever be fondly remembered in and around Links Park and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with wife Lynda and family at this very sad time.
