Montrose FC have agreed a further 12-month contract extension with stalwart Terry Masson, keeping the midfielder at Links Park until the summer of 2026, extending his tenure at the Club to an incredible 16 years.

Arriving in June 2010 from Junior side Carnoustie Panmure, the Dundee born midfielder is currently the Club’s longest serving player, and back in December played his 448th game for the Gable Endies, leapfrogging Club Legend Bobby Livingstone into second place of all-time appearances for the Links Park side.

Manager Stewart Petrie said, “Terry continues to deliver consistently whenever called upon and obviously plays with his heart on his sleeve, something I know the supporters love about him.

“To have played so many games at this level is testament to his professionalism and dedication, and we know he can play an important role for us for at least one more season.”

Terry added, “I’m delighted to be staying around for another year. It’s a brilliant dressing room to be part of and I know that I can still contribute on the pitch.

“After a disappointing season, I am ready for a break in the summer but hungry and focussed to come back and do better next year.”
