MO MOVE QUICKLY TO SNAP UP STRIKER LOUDON

Montrose FC are delighted to announce the signing of striker Ewan Loudon on a pre contract from Brechin City, bringing the talented youngster to Links Park in the summer on a 2-year deal.

The 21-year-old joined the Glebe Park side in August 2021 following his release from Premiership outfit St Johnstone.

In his four seasons in the Highland League, Loudon has featured 136 times and in the last two seasons has 33 goals and 31 assists, including a vital opening goal just minutes from time in a title deciding win against Buckie Thistle in 2023.

Manager Stewart Petrie said, “We have been following Ewan’s progress for some time and felt this was the right time to make a move, and we are delighted he has agreed to join us.

“Losing both Owen and Ben has created an opportunity for others in forward areas, and we believe Ewan is absolutely ready to step up to League 1.

“He is highly sought after and regarded as an emerging talent with his record at Brechin being very good for someone of his age. We are all looking forward to working with Ewan in the months ahead to see how he develops.”

Ewan added “I’m absolutely delighted to be here and really looking forward to the season ahead. As my contract came to an end at Brechin I received a call from Ross Campbell and had a really good conversation about the club and my own ambitions.

“I was keen to find out more, so I met with the gaffer, and after speaking for about an hour, it became clear that this was a great opportunity for me at this stage of my career. I know a few boys who’ve played at Montrose, and they’ve only ever had positive things to say about the club, the staff, and the environment.”
