DILLON CELEBRATES 300th MO APPEARANCE WITH 1 YEAR EXTENTION DEAL
Montrose FC’s Sean Dillon celebrated his 300th appearance in the famous Gable Endies colours recently by signing a 12-month contract extension, keeping the player and First Team Coach at Links Park until at least next summer.
Since joining the club in 2017 from Dundee United, Dillon has been a cornerstone of Stewart Petrie’s team’s success, bringing invaluable leadership, experience, and consistency both on and off the pitch. His contributions to the club have played a pivotal role in Montrose’s period of progress and success, and his decision to extend his stay, further strengthens the foundation of the squad.
Speaking on his milestone and extended stay, Dillon said: “I’m delighted to be staying at the club, it was an easy decision for me. The 8 seasons I’ve been here have all had their challenges, but the togetherness and family feel that everyone creates here makes it so enjoyable.
“I wasn’t aware of the 300th appearance against Alloa until the Gaffer mentioned it in his team talk. Fair to say they haven’t all been great performances, but I’m keen to add to that number when we get back to it after the break.”
Petrie praised Dillon’s impact, stating: “Sean has been an exceptional servant to the club, and his experience continues to be invaluable both in the dressing room and on the training ground. His commitment and professionalism set the highest standards for our players, and we are thrilled to have him continue in his dual capacity.”
