MIGHTY MO SECURE PROMISING YOUNG DEE MIDFIELDER CLARK
Montrose FC is delighted to announce the signing of highly rated midfielder Ross Clark from Dundee FC. The 19-year-old joins the Gable Endies on a two-year deal, bringing energy and creativity to Links Park ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Clark, a product of Dundee’s Youth Academy, has been full time at Dens Park for the past 3 years and last season enjoyed a loan spell with Highland League outfit Formartine United. Known for his composed passing, tenacity and dynamic presence in the middle of the park, Clark will bring a youthful energy to Stewart Petrie’s midfield options for the campaign ahead following the departure last season of veterans Paul Watson and Michael Gardyne.
Speaking on the signing, Montrose Manager Stewart Petrie said, “Ross is a fantastic addition to the team. He caught our eye during a bounce game last year, so when we heard of his release from Dundee, it was an easy decision to make. He’s hungry, technically gifted, and has a great engine. We believe he has huge potential and we’re excited to help him develop further at Montrose.”
Ross also expressed his enthusiasm about the move: “I’m really excited to join Montrose. I’ve had some great conversations with the manager about the direction of the club, and I can’t wait to get started and contribute on the pitch.
“Having played against Montrose last season, I know the style of play and my Dundee teammates Lyall Cameron and Luke Graham both loved their loans spells here, saying it was a well run club with a good setup and would be a great place to learn, develop and really kickstart my career.”
This brings Petrie’s summer acquisitions to four, following the signings earlier this month of Ewan Loudon, Kieran Freeman and Craig Wighton.
