AIDAN MARKS 150th APPEARANCE FOR GABLE ENDIES
Defender Aidan Quinn reached a significant milestone recently, making his 150th appearance for the Gable Endies in Saturdays match at home against Alloa Athletic.
The 26-year-old centre half has become a cornerstone of Stewart Petrie’s side since arriving at Links Park in early 2020 from Heriot Watt University. His journey from university football to League 1 prominence has been nothing short of remarkable, with Quinn consistently demonstrating grit, leadership, and a knack for crucial goals.
One of his most memorable outings came during his 100th appearance back in May 2023, when he came off the bench at half-time against Queen of the South with Montrose trailing 2-0. Quinn turned the tide, netting both the equaliser and the winner in a thrilling 3-2 comeback at Links Park.
Since then, he’s continued to grow in stature, earning a contract extension late last year that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2027.
Presenting Aidan with his trophy, Chairman John Crawford commented, “Aidan has really embraced the challenge of stepping up from university football and gets better with each and every season. Let’s hope there are many more appearances to come – and a few more goals too.”
With 150 appearances now under his belt and double-digit goals to his name, Aidan Quinn’s journey is a testament to Montrose FC’s commitment to nurturing talent – and to the player’s own determination to rise through the ranks and make his mark.
