Montrose FC midfielder Matheus Machado recently made his 100^th appearance for the club in a 2-1 home win against East Fife.

The Brazilian born talented youngster arrived at Links Park from Breeden Highland League outfit Rothes in January 2023, having previously spent time at both Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Elgin City.

Machado has scored three goals for the Gable Endies, each one of vital importance.

His first was in March 2023, when as a substitute he bagged a late winner in a 2-1 victory away at Kelty Hearts.

In the following October, again from the bench, and again away at Kelty, he broke the deadlock late on in a 2-0 win that took the Gable Endies to the top of the table.

This season, Matheus took his tally to 3 with the only goal in a KDM Evolution Trophy group stage win at home against Angus neighbours Forfar Athletic.

On his achievement, Machado said, “Reaching 100 games for Montrose is something I’m incredibly proud of. It’s a milestone that reflects a lot of hard work, sacrifices and support from people around me.

“I’m grateful to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far, and I see this as motivation to keep pushing for more.”

On presenting Matheus with his award, Club Chairman John Crawford added, “Matheus should be proud of reaching this milestone and I would like to congratulate him on behalf of everyone at the club.

“His versatility means he can play in a number of positions and every time he does, his natural talent and ability are clear for all to see. We look forward to seeing him play many more games for the Mighty Mo.”
