GABLE ENDIES ACCEPT BINOS BID FOR BROWN

Montrose FC have agreed a fee with Stirling Albion that will see midfielder Craig Brown make the move from Links Park to the League 2 side.

Since arriving from the University of Stirling back in the summer of 2021, the 26-year-old has featured 187 times for Stewart Petrie’s side, with 19 goals to his name.

His last goal for the club came at Links Park back in February, when he came off the bench to unleash a late thunderbolt from 25 yards, that not only clinched a five-goal thriller against Queen of the South but also won the Club’s Goal of the Season award.

Petrie said, “Craig has been a great servant for us over the last 5 years, both on and off the pitch and has been a pleasure to manage. Stepping up from Uni football to League 1 is never easy, but he proved it could be done and took it in his stride. He is a larger-than-life character, who works extremely hard, and who always brings positivity and banter to the changing room – although his taste in music has to be questioned at times!

“This is a good move for Craig, and I would like to thank him for all his efforts during his time at Links Park and wish him all the very best for the future.

“I would also like to thank everyone at Stirling Albion for making this deal happen.”
