CLUB PAY TRIBUTE TO DEPARTING TRUST CEO

Montrose FC would like to put on record its thanks and immense gratitude to Peter Davidson, who left his role as Chief Executive Officer of Montrose Community Trust (MCT) last week after 12 years.

Club Chairman John Crawford said, “As many people know, the growth and success of our Community Trust over the last decade has been nothing short of incredible. However, what is less well known, is the part Peter has played in nurturing his original idea and vision, to eventually getting things off the ground under the original name of Links Park Community Trust, and then relentlessly driving to develop and deliver new and innovative programmes year on year to support the needs of so many people, young and old, in and around the town.

“This naturally brought deserved recognition and reputational benefit, winning awards locally, nationally, and internationally too, putting the names of the Trust, the Club, and our small coastal town on the European stage.”

Club Chief Exec Peter Stuart added, “Because of our close relationship, to many, MFC and MCT are one in the same, but they are in fact run as separate entities, with the Trust one of our key partners, and it was through this growing relationship that back in 2016, Peter was invited to join the Board of Directors, a role he has thrived in since, and one that I am delighted to say Peter intends to continue with.

“Peter should be extremely proud of all he has achieved with the Trust and the legacy he leaves behind. Very few get the chance to impact a community in the way he has and everyone in and around Montrose will be eternally grateful. We wish him well in his new venture and look forward to welcoming and working with his successor, who will be appointed in due course.”

On his departure, Peter Davidson commented, “It has been an immensely enjoyable and rewarding role. I am deeply grateful to Montrose FC for their unwavering support, allowing the Trust to flourish by leveraging their brand, badge, and facility. I firmly believe that change is beneficial, and I am confident that the Trust will continue to thrive with a fresh perspective under new leadership.”
