GABLE ENDIES APPOINT NEW SUPPORTER LIAISON OFFICER
Montrose FC have appointed Michael Ives as their new Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO) for the next two years, to work closely and alongside existing SLO Stephen McCallum.
The Club has been committed to the UEFA and Scottish FA backed role since 2018, which is designed to provide all fans with a dedicated point of contact for views, thoughts and issues to be raised, and subsequently act as a bridge to allow unique access to the Board of Directors and Management Team, ensuring active two-way communication and the building of effective relationships.
The role also works closely with security and police as well as SLO’s from other clubs to ensure relevant knowledge is spread to all organisations participating in matches and events.
On accepting the role Michael said, “It is a privilege and an honour to be appointed as a Supporter Liaison Officer for the club I have supported for over 30 years.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to become a bridge between the Board of Directors, supporters and other stakeholders. From my personal experience, connecting and communicating with people has always been essential when networking, establishing trust, bridging relationships and building a community.
“I am looking forward to providing a safe space where – through chats and structured conversations – everyone’s voice can be uniquely heard and found through translation when crossing the bridge.”
Stephen McCallum added, “I would like to welcome Michael on board and look forward to working together as the new season gets underway. As ever, I would encourage all our fans to let us know of any concerns, issues or ideas they might have in how we can make the club that we all love an even better one to support.”
