Montrose FC have signed ex-Dundee Utd defensive midfielder Keir Bertie on a 12 month contract, bringing him to Links Park until at least the summer of 2025.

The 18-year-old graduated from Utd’s flagship school programme at Baldragon Academy, which included a call up to a Scotland U16’s training camp, before signing his first professional deal in June 2022.

On being released from Tannadice over the summer, Mo boss Stewart Petrie wasted no time in taking a chance on the talented teenager.

Petrie said, “After a successful time at Dundee United, Keir has been training with us recently and is a great kid with bags of potential. He did really well coming off the bench on Saturday, helping us secure a point up in Inverness, and we look forward to helping him accelerate the next stage of his development.”
