Montrose FC have recalled Aulay Martin from his loan spell with local Junior side Montrose Roselea, allowing him to join up with Stewart Petrie’s first team squad ahead of the second half of the season.

Martin was snapped up by Petrie in the summer of 2023 when the 19-year-old was released by Dundee FC, having spent a number of years progressing through the Dens Academy.

Utilising the benefits of the Club’s strategic partnership with Roselea, Aulay was immediately loaned out in order to continue his development, an arrangement that has proved successful for all parties, with the highly rated midfielder scoring 30 goals across his 54 appearances to date.

Petrie said, “We have been keeping a close eye on Aulay during his time with Roselea, and he has done really, really well. There is no doubt he has earned his chance to join the first team squad, and given he can play both right wing-back and right midfield, we are all excited to see what he can do and how he manages the step up to League 1.

“I would like to thank Eric and everyone at Roselea for giving Aulay the opportunity to develop, which again goes to show how well our strategic partnership is working.”
