RETRO SHIRT SPONSORS MAKE KIND TRUST DONATION
The recent release of Montrose FC’s 145th Anniversary top has led to Montrose Community Trust receiving a fantastic donation of £1,450 from the four shirt sponsors.
The retro inspired top has proven to be a big hit with fans, and sponsors Montrose Port Authority, InterMoor, John Lawrie Tubulars and Carnegie Fuels have collective agreed to equally contribute towards the £1,450 charity donation.
On receiving the donation, Trust CEO Chris Platt said, “We are incredibly grateful to Montrose FC and our local businesses for their unwavering support, especially through this special edition kit celebrating 145 years of the club’s history. This donation is more than just funding — it’s a testament to the power of community, partnership and the deep-rooted connection between Montrose FC and the people it serves. Every contribution helps us continue making a real difference, and we couldn’t do it without this kind of meaningful backing.”
On how the donation idea came about, Commercial & Operations Assistant Eilidh Reid explained, “When discussing the retro top concept, we wanted to both include our sponsors in some way as well as at the same time provide a charity benefit.
“So, we decided to add all four main shirt sponsors to the back of the retro shirt, and in return, they all kindly agreed to contribute towards a symbolic £1,450 donation to the Trust.”
