GARDYNE ENDS 650 GAME SENIOR CAREER WITH LINKS PARK DEPARTURE
Michael Gardyne has chosen to retire from the senior game following the expiry of his contract with Montrose FC this summer, bringing to an end an illustrious career spanning a remarkable 650 games.
Having arrived at Links Park in January 2022, the 39-year-old has made 125 appearances for the Gable Endies and scored 9 goals.
Manager Stewart Petrie remarked, “I have known Midge for a long time now since our days together at Ross County and I am so happy for him to have reached 650 senior games, a truly remarkable achievement that he should be so proud of.
“As for his time at Links Park, he brought us great experience and leadership both in the dressing room, and on the pitch and helped us reach two promotion play-off semi-finals.
“He is a real character, and will be sorely missed, but we wish him and his family all the very best for the future.”
Michael added, “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club. The players coaching staff, Directors, Chairman, and people behind the scenes were always amazing with myself and my family. I’ve made friends for life. The club as a whole has so much potential and I’m looking forward to watching how next season goes.”
