Stewart Petrie reached a major milestone last Saturday against Alloa Athletic, taking charge of his 400th competitive match as Manager of Montrose FC.

When Petrie arrived at Links Park on the 4^th of December 2016 for his first managerial role, the Mighty Mo were rooted to the bottom of League 2. Few could have predicted that his appointment would spark arguably the most successful era in the club’s 146‑year history, with Petrie becoming both the architect and driving force behind a remarkable transformation.

Across nine and a half seasons, he has guided Montrose to six top‑four league finishes and delivered memories that will last a lifetime with the winning of the club’s second-ever league title in 2018.

Of his 400 matches, 322 have come in league competition, yielding 136 wins and 80 draws. His tenure boasts an average of 1.5 points per game and a win rate of 42%, underlining the consistency and competitiveness he has instilled.

Petrie is now also closing in on becoming the longest-serving manager in Montrose history, nearing the benchmark set by Norman Christie, who led the club for just under a decade in the 1960s.
