Montrose FC Women are proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone, as Georgia Carter made her 150th appearance for the club during our visit to Rangers at the end of February.

Since joining Montrose in the 2021/22 season, Georgia has been a model of consistency, commitment, and quality. Reaching over 150 appearances and contributing around 20 goals from defence, she has now cemented her place in history as the club’s all-time leading appearance holder.

This incredible achievement reflects not only her longevity, but her ability to perform and evolve at every level, having played a key role across three leagues during her time with the club.

Director of Women’s Football Barry O’Neill praised her impact, saying:
“Georgia has been an amazing servant to the club over many years and has contributed massively to the incredible success the team has enjoyed during that time. She is a role model on and off the pitch and her calmness and positivity shine through for everyone to see. Leading the appearance table with 150 is a great testament to her professionalism. Congratulations Geo!”

Manager Feroz also highlighted just how special the achievement is:
“When you see a player reach 150 appearances, people will think that’s a good achievement, but for me this is an outstanding achievement. To obtain 150 appearances through three leagues means you have to evolve all the time and push your ability, dedication and hard work to new levels each and every season.

I have probably spent more time with Geo over the last five years than my own children, and I have not only witnessed the football improvements she has made, but also how she has developed into a fantastic young woman. Although me and Georgia sometimes don’t see eye to eye – she has been a huge part of my journey. When we talk about the success of the women’s team here at Montrose, Georgia’s name would be first on people’s lips.

The best compliment I think I can give Geo is that some people waste the gift they were given — Georgia has pushed the boundaries far beyond hers, and has become a great role model for local young girls to believe they can become a footballer.”

A true inspiration both on and off the pitch, Georgia Carter’s achievement is one that will be remembered for years to come.

Congratulations, Geo! 💙
