Folks, I just wanted to say a few personal thank yous as I reflect on what has been an incredibly emotional goodbye, between the last game of last season and my testimonial game on Saturday.

Firstly, a massive thank you to my teammates over the last 11 years! I’ve been part of some amazing changing rooms and created some amazing memories with some great characters.

I’ve also been extremely fortunate to have only had 2 managers in my entire 11 years at the club, which is a massive rarity in this day and age.

A massive thank you to Paul Heggarty for brining me to the club initially on loan and then permanently. A massive thank you to SP from taking us from the middle to bottom of league 2 to challenging for league titles and playoffs more often than not for the last 9 years, the most successful period in the club’s history.

It was a privilege to be named club captain last season after following on from the most important club captain in the club’s history.

Thank you to the board who have been incredibly supportive of the group but also have done a great job of creating an incredible family club environment.

I need to give a special mention to some players who have become incredible friends not only to me but Gina and Andie as well!

Paul Watson, Terry Masson, Graham Webster, Matty Allan, Kerr Waddell and Sean Dillon have all had a huge impact not only just on the pitch but have become lifelong friends off of it!

Along with lads like Blair Lyon’s, Craig Brown, Aidan Quinn, Cammy Gill, Cammy Ballantyne, Michael Gardyne and so many others who I have probably forgotten to mention, have made my time at Montrose incredibly enjoyable.

Finally, a thank you to the fans who have seen some ups and downs with us, but there is a core group who have always shown up!

All the best to the new group and new faces at the club. It’s an incredibly promising group who have a great chance to do something great this year in a very demanding league again.
