ACADEMY DUO GRADUATE BY SIGNING FIRST PRO-DEALS

Montrose FC have awarded two of their latest Youth Academy graduates, Kyle McClements and Fraser Donaldson, first-team, professional contracts for the coming season.

Both youngsters have enjoyed a steady and impressive emergence into the first team setup over the past year, with Fraser making 3 appearances for Stewart Petrie’s side last season and Kyle netting 3 times in his 13 outings.

On making the signings, Petrie commented, “This is exciting news for not only Kyle and Fraser, but also for the Club. David Burns, and all his staff should once again be congratulated on firstly bringing this young talent to Lins Park, and then on the quality of coaching they deliver to all the boys to accelerate their development towards the first team.”

Academy Lead David Burns added, “We’re delighted to see Fraser and Kyle sign their first professional contracts – a fantastic achievement for them and their families and one they should all be righty proud of.

“The hard work starts now, and we will continue to support their progression every step of the way. Their success, alongside last season’s debuts of Aaron Clark, Campbell Millar, Finn Leddie, Andrew Mochrie, Archie Clelland and Ryan Conner highlights that the pathway from our Academy to the First Team is stronger than ever.”

Putting pen to paper, Kyle said, “I’m delighted to have signed my first professional contract at Montrose. A really proud moment for me and my family. A special thank you to my parents, I’m really grateful for all the help and belief they’ve shown in me. A massive thanks to the gaffer and all the first-team staff for putting their trust in me and giving me this opportunity. Also, a huge thanks to David Burns for all the help and support he has given me along the way I’m excited for the future and to keep working hard and give everything for the club.”

Fraser added, “I’m delighted to be offered my first professional contract at Montrose after 3 good years in the academy. A big thanks to my family, David Burns and all of the coaches that have coached me over the years and to the Gaffer and the first team staff for this opportunity.”
